About Theta Xi- Kappa Chapter

We are a group of unique individuals with diverse interests spanning sports, programming, art, fiction, philosophy, philanthropy, and more.  However, we all share a bond of brotherhood that supports and enriches us.  In between fraternity projects such as rush, membership education, house maintenance, and philanthropy events, we enjoy studying, hanging out together, and organizing fun activities.

Kappa Chapter was founded at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on March 30, 1907.  It was the third of the eight Greek fraternal organization chapters to be established at Rose-Hulman.

Purpose of Theta Xi

The purpose of Theta Xi is to provide a college home environment for its active members in which fellowship and alumni guidance lead to wholesome mental, moral, physical, and spiritual growth. To that end Theta Xi actively supports and augments college and community efforts to make individual members more mature and chapter groups more useful units of society. Through its alumni and undergraduate leadership Theta Xi endeavors to assist each member to develop:

  1. Intellectual curiosity that assures the highest scholarship rating consistent with his ability;
  2. Habits that lead to better mental and physical health;
  3. Sincerity in his association with others and confidence in himself;
  4. Responsibility to chapter, college, community, and country;
  5. Leadership that comes from practicing the principles of democratic self-government;
  6. Interests and activities outside regular scholastic studies that employ spare time to advantage;
  7. Spiritual understanding that provides a reservoir of strength to draw upon when faced with conditions beyond comprehension.
